I am a big fan of a paperless life, except for my morning newspaper and the odd book.
Since the onslaught of devices like smartphones and tablets, I have moved more towards a paperless work lifestyle. My schedules are in my Google Calendar, which is synced with my laptop, my iPad and my Blackberry. My notes are collected in my Evernote account for which I have apps running on all my devices. All my files are stored in my Dropbox, which allows me to access them from anywhere with an internet connection. I make all my travel arrangements online and sync them with my TripIt account. Most of my banking is done online and I have e-mail statements sent to me.
I now get digital versions of all my favorite magazines on my iPad using Zinio or the iPad’s Newsstand app.
The only areas where I still use paper regularly are for personnel records, contracts and financial dealings with clients. It’s only a matter of time before these get digitized too.
Although I love the touch and feel of paper, the digitization of content has liberated me from carrying tons of stuff around and allows me to read and write at convenience.
