Arkham City Ships 6 Million

Since it’s launch in October 2011, Batman Arkham City has shipped over 6 million units, according to the game’s publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Arkham City is the sequel to 2009′s sleeper hit, Batman Arkham Asylum, from Rocksteady Studios.

While we don’t know how many of these units have sold through, it’s a realistic number considering that NPD Group put it in seventh place in the top selling games of 2011 in the United States. Apart from this, GameFly, the game rental company, said Arkham City was it’s most requested game of 2011 beating out the favorite, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

To add to the commercial accolades, the game has been nominated for two awards at the forthcoming Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March 2012.
